There are always some personal reasons for the no weight loss problem that many dieters face. Some of it is external, such as being confused by contradictory information, difficulty exercising, or some medications which cause problems with weight loss programmes, other problems are more personal. While you can never fully overcome some of these reasons, they can be managed and that is how you can solve the problem. Do any of these dieting problems sound like you?
Falling Off the Wagon
All dieters fall of the wagon of weight loss programmes at least once, leading to a stagnant program for weight loss. Sometimes people fall off because the diet isn't right for them, others fall off because they just don't have the willpower to stick with it. Falling off the wagon is incredibly common among dieters and is one of the top reasons for diet failure. If this sounds like you, it's time to call halt and reorganize your diet. Take a look at what worked for you, what didn't work for you and what changes can be made so that your weight loss programmes are a more positive experience for you, as well as letting you reach your goals!
Cleaning Off Your Plate
Many of us grew up with the 'Clean your plate' regime instilled by well meaning parents and babysitters. However, you don't have to clean your plate so long as you eat a balanced dinner. Instead, listen to the natural rhythm of your body; eat when you are hungry and stop when you feel full without being crammed. Instead of trying to clean your plate all of the time, be aware of when you are full and if you are still hardwired for the clean plate regime, try eating with a smaller plate! And try chewing slowly and drinking water between each bite; this can also help you feel fuller. Not only will this help you lose weight, but it will also teach portion control.
Taking Baby Steps
For some things, taking baby steps is a good thing. For other things, not so much. When it comes to losing weight, bigger is better; it's far better to cut entire foods out cold turkey. For example, if you've decided to cut out soda, do it cold, don't do it slowly or you'll quickly find that you've joined the no weight loss club. It may be uncomfortable and hard, but after a while, you'll find that you don't miss the foods you once lived for and the healthier foods more than make up the lack.
The haunt of no weight loss is something that plagues many would be dieters leading a frantic search for rapid weight loss. However, this fear can be dispelled by taking a good look at your lifestyle and making realistic changes as needed on a personal level and then on a larger diet scale. It's all about keeping yourself and your health in priority and then working from there. There will be pitfalls and sometimes there will be problems, but this weight loss problem can be overcome and you'll be well on your way to your new weight goals in no time.
